A win for Hearts ๐Ÿ’•

Hearts win 56-22 against Ryland Raiders!

Hearts started strong and energetic but after a rough fall from Molly๐Ÿค• everything was switched up.

Ryland raiders were fast and threw the game into chaos at times but Hearts were able to gain control and convert forced errors and turnovers picked by defence! Playing our first game in the sun this year was a bit of a challenge for shooters but also for keeping up energy in the unexpected heat!

We pulled away and had a strong lead by the second quarter. We continued to pull away for the rest of the game and conserved energy where necessary by waiting for the drive.
Massive thank you to Grace and Leah for playing up and stepping in to play a whole match straight after their own game! We couldn’t have won that without you both!

Another chance to face Ryland Raiders in a couple weeks so fingers crossed for the same energy from Hearts!

Well done to Olivia for player! Shooting in the second half in particular was faultless!

Aces at their best against Alvechurch

Great match for Aces today 09.03.25!

Played our game and held our own against quite a physical team.
First match with actual sunshine threw us off slightly to start off with but we all left with a cracking tan๐Ÿ˜‹

We remained calm and worked the ball fantastically through court – well timed movements and the right choice of passes meant we flowed well from defence into attack!

Defence were unbelievable today – so many turnovers and rebounds collected. Great communication lead to added pressure and forced errors. As well as moving the ball very well through court into attack

Working around the D was sharp and accurate meaning we barely needed to take any long shots – always a bonus
Shooting accuracy (as per) was very high which meant we converted well and inevitably won the game ๐Ÿ†

All in all a great team effort!๐Ÿ˜™

Final score: 49-20 to Aces

Player of the match was yours truly Leah Wood ๐Ÿคญ And captains player was Sarah Marson!

Queens continue to rule

Queens faced BDR in some bitter cold February weather but came out victorious once again with a score of 35-13 ๐Ÿฅณ

Every single person played brilliantly and have certainly found groove working together!

Super shooters Amy, Frank and Gem worked hard against some tough defence to put the ball in the net. Centre courters Stace, Beth, Katie and Soph travelled the ball down the court and made an effort to reset and play around when needed, and our consistently fab defence duo Luc & Millie did what they do best; endless rebounds and interceptions and tight marking.

Diamonds sparkle

Match Report – 02/03/25
On this lovely & sunny Sunday morning, Diamonds took on Panthers 3.
With it starting as a very close match, Q1 finished with the scores being very close, with us slightly behind Panthers!
With a couple of changes made, Q2 was seen to be a much smoother quarter for us. Defense was on fire, successfully turning over many passes and enabling further goals.
Throughout Q3, our passing was strong moving down court and movement in the D was good allowing us to maintain our lead.
The final quarter was by far our strongest! We saw great play throughout with many goals being scored. Such a fun game, with great team play! The match finished with a win for Diamonds with a score of 53-29 !

Clubs v Blossomfield Bees 09.02.25

Well done everyone today. Not only a great win, 50-34, but fantastic team performance. We went slightly crazy in the 2nd and 3rd quarters but regained our heads in the 4th.
Well done Ellie on Player ๐Ÿ‘ despite those big feet.
Jeanette you had a great game and your shooting and movement was bang on.
Thanks to Rose and Stacey for playing up for us today.

Aces v BDR Jets 19.01.25

Alcester Aces 43 Vs BDR Jets 22

Aces didn’t let the late change of location due to the poor weather affect our performance on court. Despite the freezing conditions we took an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back with some nice passages of play through court, brilliant tips and intercepts to turn the ball over in defence and well timed movement and accurate shooting helped us to continue building on our lead throughout the game. Lucy was our super sub today answering our plea at short notice to fill and what a game she had, fitting in beautifully in both wing positions. A clash of heads in the third quarter wasnโ€™t enough to keep Izzy out for long as she was a reliable option and support throughout for all. There was many positives in todays game to take forward with us and a few areas to continue working on in training. Well done to all who played, brilliant game had by everyone and big thank you to the many supporters who braved the cold and watched including our injured Chloe. Congratulations to Gemma for captains player and players player went to Katie

Aces v Clubs 26.01.25

An inter club league match where Aces beat Clubs this time 37-30!

Report from Gemma, Aces Captain:
Chloe some great circle rotation and super shooting today
Rose you provide such great support through court and are always driving forward to provide options – plus you got lots of tips and intercepts today, great work!!

A fun social evening with Team Queens at Spotty Pots 07.02.25

Queens v Ryland Roses 02.02.25

Blue skies this morning and a sunny win for Queens; 58-19 against Ryland Roses ๐Ÿ‘‘

Our super shooters Amy, Frankie and Gem were all on form as usual sinking the ball in the net time and time again; centre court with Stace, Beth, Katie and myself worked hard and were successful in finding spaces and passing accurately to bring the ball down the court seamlessly. Our defensive duo Millie and Lucinda shone, as they always do, with countless tips, interceptions and rebounds. ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿ’จ

With a few relatively easy games in our back pockets, weโ€™ll be working hard at training (and team bonding over some pottery painting & yapping!) over the next fortnight to put ourselves on the front foot for our upcoming, more challenging match on the 16th ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ’

GO TEAM and the weekly congratulations and big pat on the back to Lucinda, for her always deserved player of the match award ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ–ค

Queens v Redditch Opals 19.01.25

What a great start to 2025 for Queens, winning against Redditch Opals 37-17 ๐ŸŽŠ

The UKโ€™s delightful temperatures were glorious as alwaysโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿฅถ meaning there were some frosty fingers to begin with, initially starting with some hesitancy. Once the Queens had found their groove and found their ground, there was genuinely no stopping us ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Our ever-reliable shooters were sinking them in beautifully: Amy, Frankie & Gem all proving their credible attacking and shooting skills continuously throughout the match. Even with some powerful defending from the opposition, some scratches & bruises to prove this, it wasnโ€™t enough to stop the score increasing.

Although we Queens do get a little excited and sometimes let the play go wild before taking a breath & slowing it down, you canโ€™t deny the ever-present support & strength of Soph, Katie & Lucy in the centre third, placing themselves well on the court and even having some swanky intercepts.

Even more impressively was the defensive duo of Lucinda & Millie T: I cannot put into words how strong your defensive skills were today, as well as backing up the centre third, and all of us were in awe of this, umpires included. The score margin would not have been the same without your amazing rebounds, intercepts and clever turn of play. Itโ€™s no wonder Player of the Match was awarded to a worthy Lucinda Granger ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

It was even the post-injury return for Beth, hobbling along into GK after a few months out, and successfully staying upright WOO! Although only a quarter played, itโ€™s good to be back & hopefully start to find the rhythm again soon.

All in all, A GREAT MORNING FOR THE QUEENS ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘‘
